Child Care for low income Individuals provides assistance to low-income families or individuals for sustainable child care. These wide-range programs support the healthy development of children in the United States. Child care will always play a huge role in an individual’s life. From nursery to teen, and even up to adulthood, the lessons we learned from our childhood will retain significantly.

Furthermore, child care enables each child to be ready and competitive enough upon maturity. It is one of the specific aspects that parents or families need to focus on for the growth and progress of children. Child care builds a strong foundation for every child for their future life. Child Care Assistance Program

A national program created by the federal government. It primarily assists low-income individuals to access quality child care by giving financial assistance. The said program applies all over the United States and is supervised by each local government.

  • Applicants must have a child family member (must be under the age of 13).
  • Parents must be working, looking for a job, or studying.
  • Further eligibility rules vary by each state.

Child Care Resource And Referral Services (CCRRS)

Provides assistance for low-income families to support child care and development. The assistance that can get from this program varies by the needs of its beneficiaries. CCRRS was handled by each Local Child Care Resource and Referral Organization.

  • Families must be below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level.
  • Parents must be employed and work at least 20 hours per week

Child Care And Development Fund

This program was created by the U.S. federal government. Its main purpose is to support families who can’t provide proper child care for their children. The program prioritizes those individuals who need child care because of their work or study.

  • Should be a parent or primary caregiver of a child under the age of 13.
  • The applicant’s household income must be under the low-income group.
  • Parents must be employed or enrolled in the United States.

Child Tax Credit

This program assists its eligible beneficiaries by reducing their respective taxes up to $1,000 for every qualified child. It was created to lessen the taxes of parents and have more funds for the child care and development of their children. Child Tax Credit was supervised by the U.S Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

  • The child must be under the age of 18.
  • Must have a valid Social Security Number.
  • Parents should file 2019 or 2020 tax returns or give 2020 to receive the Economic Impact Payment with the Non-Filers.

Required Documents for the Application

  1. Proof of U.S. citizenship (can be a passport, driver’s license, birth certificate, green card, or employment authorization card)
  2. Proof of date of birth (qualifying child must be under 19 at least but the age eligibility of programs varies)
  3. Birth Certificate of Child
  4. Proof of your Household Income (must meet the standard income guidelines of a specific program)
  5. Proof of Employment or Enrollment
